Staff photo by Angela Brown...Portage Emergency Services firefighters extinguished fires in two vans on Oct. 30. The incident happened on Fourth Avenue East at Tupper Street North at about 6:45 p.m. The siding, porch and shingles of a nearby storage building also caught on fire as a result of the blaze, but firefighters were able to quickly put out the flames. Regional Health Ambulance Service and Portage RCMP were also at the scene. Portage Emergency Services confirmed the cause of the fire was determined to be arson. There were no injuries reported.
