Heather Bishop’s oil portraiture exhibition entitled, “My Face is a Map of My Time Here,” will be on display in the gallery of the Portage and District Arts Centre until Nov. 28.
Her artwork captures the old and young in oil on canvas. The detail in her paintings reveals the life experiences of her subjects and their facial expressions captured on canvas are endearing.
Heather notes how she has always been intrigued by people’s faces, “I feel that our faces are maps of our time here — the old in our wisdom and the young in our innocence.”
The Manitoba Arts Council and Century 21 Andrich Realty locally are sponsoring this exhibition and a related concert performance.
